Mariah Blackwell was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and was raised in a small town north of the city. While in high school, she obtained her commercial fixed wing single and multi-engine pilot’s license with instrument rating and worked as a radio station traffic watch pilot while attending college. She graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 1997 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. While serving in the Air Force, Mariah was stationed in Charleston, SC and Arlington, TX. She conducted felony criminal investigations as a Special Agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. Upon completion of her military service, she continued in law enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and as a police officer with the Huntington Beach, CA Police Department. Mariah moved to the St George area in 2008. She has one child, Matthew, who is her pride and joy. She enjoys fishing, riding ATVs, snow skiing, and watching football…especially her LSU Tigers.
