Vision

At DMA, our vision is to awaken within each child their unique potential that will enable them to make a valuable contribution to society.

Mission

The mission of Dixie Montessori Academy (DMA) is to provide a child-centered, individualized grade K-7 education founded upon the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori. DMA will foster a structured environment of freedom and discovery in which each child can reach his or her full academic, social, and personal potential. Graduates of DMA will demonstrate creative thinking, self-discipline, respect, and cooperation, and will build a solid foundation for future success.

Turnaround Needs Statements

Leadership

Goal 1: Staff culture, communications and interactions will be established that fosters trust and shared commitment to the goals of the school.

Instructional Transformation

Goal 2: Horizontal and vertical alignment of state developmental standards and Montessori curriculum.

Talent development:

Goal 3: Professional development is needed to implement the alignment of the state developmental standards and Montessori curriculum to include to depth of knowledge and appropriate levels of rigor.

Culture Shift

Goal 4: Promote a successful home/school collaborative effort.  This would include communication and education in Montessori and state developmental standards.  Stakeholder understanding to increase engagement and commitment to support the mission of the school and adherence to state standards is required.
